Axie Infinity developer brings Japanese Web2 games to Ronin

The first Web2 game of the series to be bridged to Ronin is Zoids Wild Arena. On November 2, Sky Mavis, the developer behind the popular monster-battle nonfungible tokens (NFT) game Axie Infinity, announced a partnership with Korean gaming studio Act Games, to bring a variety of Japanese video game franchises to its native Ronin blockchain. In an email seen by Cointelegraph, the partnership revealed that the first game to be bridged to Ronin is Zoids Wild Arena, inspired by Japan's largest toy manufacturer Tomy's award-winning anime series. It was first unveiled by Tomy in 1983 as a plastic model figure. Other franchises to be migrated include Hello Kitty Aggretsuko and Bubble Bobble. Onyx Protocol exploiter begins siphoning $2.1M loot on Tornado Cash

The bug Onyx Protocol hacker exploited to steal $2.1 million was previously used by a hacker to extort $7 million from Hundred Finance. FTX and Alameda linked wallets transfer $10M of crypto to exchanges in just 5 hours

According to Spot On Chain data, the firms sent $10 million worth of crypto to a single wallet address, which then deposited the funds to Binance and Coinbase. Wallets linked to bankrupt crypto firms Alameda Research and FTX transferred over $10 million worth of cryptocurrency to exchange deposit accounts in five hours on October 24-25, according to data from blockchain analytics platform Spot On Chain. Paxos confirms it's responsible for $500K mistaken Bitcoin transaction

The account that paid $500,000 to move $2,000 worth of Bitcoin was a Paxos server, the company stated. The account that overpaid $500,000 in fees on Sept. 10 for a Bitcoin (BTC) transfer belonged to Paxos, according to a Sept. 13 statement from the company. Paxos claimed that end users have not been affected and all user funds are safe. Paxos is most well-known as the issuer of stablecoins, including PayPal USD (PYUSD) and Pax Dollar (USDP), but also runs a crypto brokerage firm that carries Bitcoin. The statement comes after Twitter users were speculating that PayPal may have been responsible for the transaction, due to a related wallet account that had been identified by analytics platform OXT as belonging to PayPal. Yuga Labs acquires Beeple’s 10KTF game, hints at metaverse integration

Once the acquisition is completed, the company said that Beeple will be hired as an advisor for Yuga Labs. Yuga Labs, creators of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), has acquired 10KTF — the nonfungible token (NFT) game founded by digital artist Michael Winkelmann, also known as Beeple. 10KTF is a browser-based NFT game that allows players to outfit heroes with crafted items and load-outs in order to complete missions. Missions reward players with APE coins, badges, materials and free airdrops. The game also intends to include many items that could be worn by an avatar in the future; pairs of socks and backpacks are popular items from the game’s collection. China launches blockchain-powered data exchange

The platform will facilitate the buying and selling of Web3 data among enterprises; Alibaba Cloud and Huawei are among the companies to participate. During the 2023 Hangzhou Summit held in Hangzhou, China, a new data exchange powered by blockchain technology was unveiled by government officials. Over 300 enterprises, including Alibaba Cloud and Huawei, participated in the exchange 's debut. According to local news reports on Aug. 23, the new Hangzhou Data Exchange will facilitate the trading of enterprise information technology data using distributed ledger technology. In the same hearing where Bankman-Fried pleaded not guilty to seven fraud-related charges, Bankman-Fried’s lawyers pleaded for the former FTX CEO to receive better treatment inside Brooklyn’s notorious Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), according to an Aug. 22 transcript shared by the Inner City Press. FC Barcelona secures $132M investment for blockchain and NFT venture

The football club has been keen on creating nonfungible token collections for much of the past year. Spanish football club FC Barcelona has secured a €120 million ($132 million) investment from Libero Football Finance AG and Nipa Capital B.V. for its Web3 initiative Barça Vision. According to the Aug. 11 announcement, FC Barcelona sold a 29.5% stake in Bridgeburg Invest, the holding company for Barça Vision, in exchange for the capital. "Barça Vision is the Club's initiative to integrate all digital content around Web3 and blockchain including nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and metaverse, which are part of the Club's strategy to build the digital Espai Barça," developers wrote. Coinbase CEO says SEC told it to delist everything but Bitcoin: Report

Brian Armstrong claimed SEC staff said all cryptocurrencies but Bitcoin are securities and requested the exchange delist all other cryptocurrencies. Crypto exchange Coinbase was once told by the United State securities regulator to delist all cryptocurrencies on its platform except for Bitcoin (BTC), according to CEO Brian Armstrong. In a July 31 interview with the Financial Times, Armstrong revealed that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission wanted the exchange to delist the nearly 250 tokens on its platform prior to it filing a lawsuit against the exchange.
